Autumn Baby

This time of year is fall picture time at Ellie’s daycare and I’m always amazed by how much she changes in such a relatively short period of time. It seems so subtle day-to-day, but it turns out my sweet little Ellie Baby is not so little anymore! Here are her portraits from September 2016, 2017 and 2018…

SEE WHAT I MEAN?! I’m always thankful to have these pictures as proof that she actually used to be little because, honestly, sometimes it’s hard to remember! She uses the potty by herself now, talks in complete sentences, and tells Andrew and I when we’re being mean to each other, “not nice, Mommy!” She told Andrew the other day that he had “good morning breath” rather than morning breath, and yesterday when I opened the curtains in our house she said, “Mommy, it’s so bootiful outside.” It seems like everything out of her mouth makes us laugh, and discipline is almost impossible because she’s JUST TOO CUTE.

I’m sure I will say the same thing next year, but I hope she stays like this just a little bit longer, so I can keep hearing her say words like “popkissle” instead of popsicle, and “hosipital” instead of hospital. For now, I’m just trying to get as much of it on video as possible.

It’s Been A While

img_1605It’s hard to believe that in the few months since my last post, we’ve welcomed a new baby girl to our family and now she’s almost three months old. I took a break from blogging to enjoy the end of my pregnancy and maternity leave. Now that I’m back at work (and not snuggling with a newborn all day) it’s a little easier to focus on writing again.

Audrey Karen Davis was born June 28th at 10:16 a.m. and is just perfect. I am biased, but it’s also true. Ellie has been over the moon and is the best big sister we could hope for. She is always helping me by bringing pacifiers, diapers, and not to mention, regular entertainment. She says some of the funniest stuff we’ve ever heard!

Here are a few pics of Ellie meeting Audrey for the first time at the hospital, and below are pics over the last couple of months…

We are so in love with our girls and are enjoying every minute with them. Seeing them grow, learn new words, and seeing smiles on their little faces is our favorite thing, and we’re just soaking it up right now.
